  1. A couple of corrections to the 1982 Argentina World Champs team list:

David Wright and Wayne McNamara were not part of that team.

Tony Naar (Vic), John Anthony (Vic), Steve Power (ACT) and Daniel Arabi (NSW) were.

Russ Borgeaud was representing NSW at the time.

  2. Oh yea we were there, and woo! remember our first game against Italy, when as we’re walking to the court our numbers were been sawed to our shirts and how still in the first set Tony Saad broke the floor boars in his landing. Those were the days… Thanks Phill it’s great that some still remember

  3. Hi guys,
Wasn’t Nick Kasonavic (Vic/Heidelberg) part of the 1983 World Cup Team in Argentina as well?
    Trevor

  4. Trevor, Nick didn’t go to that tournament but he did go to the Commonwealth Champs in 1981.

Actually Phil, Tony Naar wasn’t in the team, but Mark Casserley (WA) was.

  5. Sorry, Mark was on the list already, I meant to say that Wayne McNamara was actually on the team.

We took 14 with Phil Borgeaud and David Wright being the two unlucky players who didn’t get to play in the Championships.

  6. Hello would you have any photos of John Anthony. He passed away last Sunday, we have very few photos oh him.
    Thank you
    His sister Karen
